    Hello,
I don't know what happened with my Q console. I'm playing in Star Fox Adventures, next shut down console, and when I try to play again, Gamecube loads GC Cube and system not going to gamecube menu, but only give me this information (I took a photo):

    Unfortunately I don't understand Japanese :(

When I switch to DVD-player mode, everything works ok. Maybe someone here can translate this text or have similar problem in past?

    Many thanks

The text translates to "First Calender - You need to set the options. Please press the button."

    Text: 最初にカレンダーとオプションをセットする必要があります。ボタンを押してください。
Translation: It is necessary to set the calendar and options first. Please push a button.

Sounds like a message that would appear on first boot only. Did it work normally before?
I'm not familiar with the GameCube, but it probably uses a battery (such as CR 2032) for saving these options. It might have run dry.

I know this is probably nothing to do with your problem, but you have tried all ports and a different controller right?

Moved to repairs forum. You're asking for help fixing something, not making a modification.

It's quite likely, as has been said, that a battery has died. You'd have to ask someone with experience of opening a Q, like Marmotta.

Wondering if maybe you need to use the Remote Control for it?

Do the buttons on the console itself allow for any kind of navigation?

I've never even touched a Q before, so, I'm just throwing ideas out there.

That latest message btw basically says "Would you like to set the date and time?". Does sound like maybe the battery has drained.

I tried all button on the console, and of course none of them works.. If battery has drained, I can't find it inside Q..

So you mean the console recognized your button while starting it? But it does not recognize any buttons after displaying the message? Any animations on screen (such as slowly glowing text はい / いいえ or something)?

    Text: 本体設定が消えています。日付・時刻などをリセットしました。セットし直しますか?
Translation: The console settings are deleted. Date and time etc. have been reset. Do you want to set it again?

Yeah, console recognize my controller when it starts (I hold "a" button) and this red information appears. There is this small box with two choices, and second choice (いいえ), on the bottom slowly glowing. But my controller doesn't respond, and no button on console work as well.

If it is a battery inside console, I can't find it...

If it still glows slowly that means the console didn't crash/freeze.
So the controller did respond when you held a button while starting it, but doesn't respond later... That's odd.
Is it a wavebird (wireless) controller or a wired one? It's an official one I suppose? Did you try a different controller yet? Did you try using the D pad (+) instead of analog sticks to switch between はい and いいえ?

I tried two wired controllers, one original, one 3rd party. Nothing happened.

Maybe it's the actual main board that's got an issue. Has the Q been modified in any way?
