Just got a Panasonic Q, the only button that works on it is the power button. I have repaired Panasonic Qs before but have never seen this issue.

I managed to get it into cube mode by partially removing cn603 and by shorting pins 4 and 5 on cn604 I can eject the disc, shockingly the drive works, a ****ing miracle, it boots games and plays dvds. The game reset button works too however none of the others do except for the power button. Any ideas?

Never heard of that problem. I had many problems with mine, but not this, sorry.

Unfortunately the way the button panel is wired it's like trying to fix a strand of Christmas lights. Every button is read by the same 2 pins except for the game reset button I can get the unit to do most commands by removing the cn603 connector or shorting pins on cn604 but the buttons won't work my guess is one of the many resistors is toast due to the same idiot that fixed the drive with a ****ing twist tie.

Isn't there a guy here that fixed a few Qs?

Found a brief mention of this problem, the problem is most likely a bad or missing resistor on the front panel. The front circuit seems to be a resistors connected in series and each button terminates the chain at a different point, unfortunately a problem anywhere in the chain would break the whole thing. I need a schematic of the front panel and the top panel.

Figured it out r603 had a bad end cap, replaced it with one of similar value and it works, if anyone else has this problem, check the resistors with a magnifying glass, yet another problem with the Q caused by poor quality parts.
