Panasonic Q has a bad disc drive

    Not sure remotely what this is worth, if anything.

    I have had this in my possession for a decade and finally decided to open it today to look inside. The original problem was the disc drive wouldn't eject. When I originally received it, it did turn on and worked other than the drive opening. Opened the system finally today and was able to fix that specific issue but upon inspection inside there's a damaged ribbon cable under the drive. I don't have the drive to fix it so I am hoping it will help someone on here's collection. Please let me know what you think it is worth. Thank you. panasonicq.JPG

    I had the same problem with a Q once, I would attach a piece of tape to the front of the drive and pull after hitting the eject button, Its a temporary fix if you are wanting to get more use out if. Sorry I can't contribute to how much it is worth though.

    FWIW ended up selling it on eBay. Guy out of the country bought it and paid an extra $50 or $60 to ship it to him. Ended up selling for $122.50 + ship out of the country.

    The prices of Q's are really strange in my experience. Years back I bought a Q in OK shape, disk drive didn't work so well. Ended up selling it locally with the money I got I bought a perfect Q with the Gameboy player.
