Out of curiosity (hopefully this isn't "exploiting partnernet"), what are the odds of being bricked for playing on Partnernet on a dev kit? I've certainly no intention of doing anything nefarious such as exploiting Pnet or leaking stuff, but it would be nice to jump online to do some RTH..Anyway if this sort of thing isn't allowed that's cool, just close the thread.
RTH is local, don't know why you would need to be online. AFAIK, PNet is still set to brick specific batches of kits, so it's at your own risk. -Doom
From what I've read, these days you got a 90+% chance of being bricked. Depending where your kit is from and what it's history is. Not sure if they tuned down the bricking, but IMO it's doubtfull.
@Doom, I meant playing RTH online with some friends, since it seemed fun. Was just an example of something that'd be interesting to try. @Hellcat, I haven't heard of a Partnernet bricking in a while? The most I've heard of recently was a recovery bricking, but that's just from what I've gathered..
You cant remove efuses...? I assume you mean remove the resistor that allows blowing of efuses? Also, on the missing transistor just bridge the pads rather than removing the resistor. Same effect and easier to reverse.
Yeah, it's a Slim so that's not gonna work...And I have no intention of downloading content from Partnernet, and even if I were to - I would never leak.
Yes but then again most illegitimate people on pnet have their efuses protected so who says ms isn't still trying?
No offence Tom, I just wanted to get a second opinion before i let me slim take its pnet maiden voyage
^^ danny i wasnt on about your post as its reasonable. i was like "90%+ chance of bricking" loled slightly to self
Even so, you'd notice something other than the efuses being blown if pnet bricked you - they'd no doubt wipe your NAND as well. Not devastating or anything, but you'd definitely notice it.
We know it fucks with your nand, I usto have before and after dumps... But then again we could not simply flash this image and get them working. Still not sure what extra h/w needed fallen is talking about.
Why don't you ask fallen what the features of this product "developed" by team xecuter. Im sure he knows plenty about it.... Also why a lamprey? You won't fuck with the fuses, most you could is hookup a serial debugging. No need for a lamprey for that.
