One time I found this wierd patent Nintendo made. Have you guys seen those "floating display" LED clocks? You know, the kind that has this arm with a column of LED's on it, and the arm swings back and forth rapidly. The LED's blink in a specific way so that it apears that a display of the time is floating in the air. A similar concept is the kind of top that has LED's on it. When you spin the top, the LED's blink in a certain way so that a message appears while it's spinning. Well Nintendo filed a patent for a wand with similar technology. It was a wand with a vertical columns of LED's of multiple colors. When you wave the wand back and forth, an image is produced. The patent suggested that the image could be changed or controlled by something. I can't remember if it sounded like it was supposed to be a peripheral for a game console, or a seperate toy.
None of the have been resized, so I'm using links First, some odd nintendo controller and what appears to be an arcade cabinate for it(possibly demo station?) http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/SantheSienar/DImg-28.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/SantheSienar/DImg-36.jpg Next, a series of PSX controller variations. Xbox controller filled in 2008. The inventor also has his name on just about every 360 accessory patent.
Funky design but that D-pad looks like it could be nasty on the thumb thanks to the raised area around it. Yakumo
I always love seeing old scrapped designs like this. Couldn't find a patent, but I always loved these old Dreamcast controllers:
I would love a zip file. I could have a look at those designs in a more confortable way. It kinda annoys me go through all the tabs using an internet browser. Thanks in advance!
