Patents of Dev Hardware

    I wonder if there are any patents on dev hardware flying around? Tried having a quick look but didnt find..

    I think it's probably the same patents as the retail consoles.

    Can anyone confirm this?

    And for add ons? Like for example psy-q kits, GDSF's etc

    Why not look on said hardware and see if it has a patent no? :p

    Patents are for new ideas and technologies, not every single device out there. I doubt any development hardware would have any development oriented technology worthy of patent. Nintendo did patent that consumer SNES game studio thing however since it was a creative idea, and Bung did patent some stupid technologies used in their products but I don't think you'll find anything more than that. Did you search through all the patents by companies known to make dev hardware?

    Heh, well yes
    I think it resembles what was meant to be (dont know if they exist) a "hotel-custom" unit of the N64. Basically, its a common N64 with a expansion unit comprising a hard disk, a modem dsp and a rfu.
