Fine here too. Be sure to run a spyware scan and check your windows .host file. Possibly something is trying to redirect you to a phishing site.

    Very odd...

have tried to log in on my other PC and works fine, where as on my main desktop i get a timeout error, with both firefox and IE.

Have disabled virus checker, firewall etc. and still no success, only did a fresh windows install on here last week and have nothing out of the ordinary running on process explorer, every other website i go onto is fine, just paypal keeps timing out

    have to keep digging......

Try going to paypal directly by using the IP

    http://216.113.188.34

If that does not work either, I have no idea.

If however it works, check the windows .host file.
If that is clean also its likely just a DNS issue, which is strange since it works from another computer (on the same connection, right?)

    Thanks for the advice s1xty

Checked the host file and it was indeed diverting on there to another ip address, deleted that and now its working fine!

Very strange! and no idea how this could of occurred, but ho hum, at least i can make payments now :icon_bigg

You probably caught a phishing virus that redirected you to some phisher's website that steals paypal accounts.

You were lucky the phisher's site was down - otherwise your account would have been stolen (along with your money).
