No warning, no email. So strange for them to not even email me.

Slowly but surely I get the impression that Paypal is run by criminals.

Personally I haven't had any problems whatsoever with PP so far, then again most of the time I only use it to buy cheap crap - When it's about expensive, important or shady stuff I tend to stick to cold, hard cash.

I heard some people don't like it for some reason.
I've never used it myself because I don't own a credit card. Last I heard they wanted to integrate PP payments, but that'd kinda defeat the purpose in the context of this conversation...

I've used Google Checkout before and liked it. From a seller viewpoint, how does Google Checkout compare with PayPal?

As much I've my own issues with paypal as soon as I phoned and spoken to them everything got sorted there and then. Shame the rest of the company is a shambles.

I've never had an issue with Paypal, been using it for close to 10 years now. I've heard many people having problems with them. I know a lot of people are switching to Google Checkout however, and I've used it myself and have been impressed with.

It might be worth calling them like Tomcat said and seeing if it was a glitch or something. I've always had great phone support with them as both a seller and a buyer.

@ASSEMbler: So is PayPal holding your funds hostage? Or did they manage to catch you after you (most people) transfer it out to a safe account?

I swept it out before hand thank goodness.

The lack of an email why it was suspended is the unnerving part.

Does google checkout allow one to receive donations? Would switch from paypal in a heartbeat if so.

My provider locked my server down (web & ssh) b/c some one found a vulnerability and posted some dodgy, copyright-infringing forms (which of course sent funds elsewhere). They locked it and said I couldn't do anything until the problem was fixed (but of course I had no access). What dumbasses.

IMO that points to an unintentional system glitch.
Might be solved quickly and in a week everyone will only be laughing at it :)

    lol xD

I know this sounds stupid but did you try to contact them? If yes, did they reply back?

Paypal are scum. Why we havent seen lobbying to governments so the governments change the law to force PayPal to obtain banking license and follow the rules of banks I dont know. Maybe PayPal is transferring all the siezed money into the PayPal accounts of the political parties as lobbying money to keep PayPal unregulated...
