Well lately me and some friends have been having trouble trusting paypal. In the situation that buyer pay us the money, we send the item but then, the buyer does a charge back for fraud since he never got the object. So he ends up with the money and the object. We had a friend that had this almost happen to him but the buyer was so stupid, he did the charge back intimidately after he paid. So he never sent the item

My question is there any way to prevent this from happening, or if it does what to do in the case of a charge back.

its a pain in the * but if you can upload all the proof that you sent the object to him including tracking and what not you should be able to win the case.

Unless you have tracking, and proof of delivery, you are fucked.
    Receipts they don't consider proof.

Based on where you send an item. In the continental United States use signiture confirmation. US to other countries good luck from what I have been told.

I talked to a paypal rep and to make a long story short. unless the person says the received it They can do a charge back.

If you're sending items worth a lot that were paid for via PayPal, ALWAYS ALWAYS send it recorded. That way, it is tracked and requires a signature.

How to not get ripped off? Don't accept PayPal! Get a cheque, but that could be cancelled too, technically. Safest way I guess is COD. For that matter, don't use eBay! lol.

Why is this in 0th bit? It's nothing that can't be discussed "in public", is it?

Never send anything of value unless it's with delivery confirmation.

I am told that if someone sends you a "gift" payment that they can not file on you.

Ya, if they forward a gift, you can't claim non-shipment because you gave a gift. Gifts come with no strings attached.

Even with proof of postage and delivery, make sure you post to the address they have in their Paypal account and NOT for example their "girlfriend's" or their "work" address or whatever, or again you're fucked.

Paypal seller protection is worthless unless you cross every t and dot every i.

One thing though - why is this in 0th bit? Wouldn't general chat have been sufficient for this question?

PayPal has spies on this forum watching our every move. If they would see any of us complain they would have our heads!

Let us pray they have not infiltrated the 0th bit or I am afraid this will be the end of us...

If someone wants to buy something from me that's pricey and I don't know them, I make them send international bank xfer. It might cost $30, but that's generally cheaper than Paypal for items I'm not willing to risk the value. Luckily my business is very family-like, and I make sure the other side is always happy. Good luck w/ that business model selling to dipshits Ebay punks.
