PC Dojin games

the next in my series of many posts regarding things to get when I get my new Laptop.

In this case...Dojin games.

I know of a few (like that one that's like a cross between Castlevania and Mega Man) and a few fighters (that German named one and the updates of Melty Blood)

what's worth checking out?

 

Siter Skain makes some pretty good shmups.

 

I would play an h-doujin game like Strip fighters XD
btw the only h-doujin i have played up to now is: Snow Drop. (a point and click hentai game were you go on a snowy mountain with a bunch of chicks...lol)

 

The Touhou game sare nice if you like shooters. Cave Story is a freebie and is apparently a must in any doujin collection. I have one down here somewhere... cost me like 500 yen. Top-down view a la Zelda. Need to hook dat shit up.

 

That Crazy Power Disc game is nice (if you like Windjammers that is)...I think there was a topic about it some months ago.

 

Sentimental Shooting. Nothing lets you look more like a desperate otaku :lol: It's Doujin yet not commercially distributed.

 

and hard to find I think I had it like once but wasn't into shooters at the time.

 

Actually I'm not too sure if there was a real release on a CD or something. I just downloaded it on shoot the core and I as it has quite a selection of girls to choose from, I didn't think it was just a demo. ShootTheCore however states it is one, so here's their download-link:

Most doujin games were released either as physical format games, or as paid downloads. So don't assume that all doujin games are freeware as that's piracy, the excuse you can't find them is also weak as if you try hard enough you can do so.

That game was done by a now defunct group called While(1); and the game was originally sold for $15.

I've got a stack of doujin games, my current favourite is a taisen shiyo come back, a azumanga daioh fighting game. Picked up at a doujinmart a few years back for Y500. It's by a group called yukidaruma

 

Can you recommend any good platformers? Really wish there was something that would 'wow' me.

Like Οrochi.Kyo already mentioned, Trouble Withces and Big Bang Beat are remarkable doujin games.
