    Hey guys,

Doing a repair on a PC Engine and need to get my hands on a 21.4772MHz crystal oscillator.
If anyone has one from a junk console or something like that I would be interested.
Please pm me if you have anything.
    Thanks

    That's just a crystal.
I need need a crystal oscillator exactly like in the picture.

They are both the same thing.

However you just need an SMD one (that looks smd at least from the pic) or just wire the one I linked to the pads.

They aren't the same thing, the SMD one has the Crystal + the required circuit in one package, the one you linked in digikey only has the crystal.

If you can't find the Crystal Oscillator, you can also build a simple circuit using a regular Crystal.

Thanks for that Feder. Do you have any links to a circuit to build one?

I think its more that a couple of caps. If you have a circuit diagram to explain it that would be great. The ones i have seen use IC's, caps resistors etc.

I've only ever dealt with oscillator circuits for Microprocessors. Which are just 2 caps - hence my original "they are the same". However, now I am at a computer (rather than in bed on my phone) it would seem by googling there are multiple different types for projects I have never done.

    My example:

I suppose the best idea would be to get the datasheet of the part you took a picture of, the datasheet will give you a diagram explaining the internal circuit - which you can copy.
