Anyone know of a good/cheap source of these? I can find them on ebay but only really in the US and the price/shipping's not great for such a generic cable (>£13 plus whatever customs deem to inflict upon me). They're $1.84 each here, confirmed as working for Pc Engine, but while that place does offer shipping to the UK they want $30 for it. There's got to be cheap source for these things but I've drawn a blank so far. Cheers for any advice.
I have a bunch of the male connectors, about 10 of them. Sitting here doing nothing so let me know if you want them.
I was thinking about making my own as the connectors seem reasonably common on electronics specialist websites. If I was going to do that, though, I might as well just hack an extension into the pad I've got already. Which, thinking about it, isn't that bad of an idea. I'd still prefer an non-invasive solution, though.
Anyone know if Turbo Grafx extension cords will work? I've got one source saying they will and a couple saying they won't.
I've got a spare TG 16 joypad extender sitting here doing nothing. If you want it PM me your address and I'll pop it in a jiffy bag and post it to you in the morning.
It would be cool if they would start making radio-based wireless controllers for older consoles. I think there's a company that makes SNES ones, but I don't know if they're any good. Plus, if I remember correctly they were kind of bulbous looking. I'd like one that looks nearly identical to the official controller.
Don't quote me on it though, my recollection is from the PAL TG16 pad, I'm not sure if US pads are the same.
I contacted Telegames (retro online store in the UK) and they can sell me a TG->PCE controller adapter... for £10. Just bought a 6ft cable from Ebay US, total cost ~£8. Seems daft to have to fly it in from abroad, but whatever, just need this sorted now.
I wish there were a source of cheap TG-16 controller extension. The Mac serial extension are mini DIN and would only work with PCE and Turbo Duo. FWIW I also have TG-16 to Turbo Duo adapter but it only works for adapting older controllers to mini DIN plug for Duo and PCE.
Why not buy a few DIN connectors that match the layout and build one? Could use CAT5e for the cable and fit something over the ends so it isn't ugly.
