Hello, I'm RGB modding a core grafx, I have the unit running correctly when tapping off from the ext bus but I'm unsure about the 8 pin DIN socket. Please could someone assist with identifying what the points are from the original 5 pin DIN socket pictured? Thanks for any assistance
Why does it matter? fit a 8 pin din socket, the original pins will match up and your 3 extra are the R G and B?
Because there wasn't a 5 pin DIN attached, it had a HK fitted RF module so I don't have an original AV cable. I don't want to wire up the SCART output wrong...
You still need to make a cable when you use a DIN8, but you will be able to look at all the guides to wire it up correctly.
Yes I appreciate what you are saying but I don't know what these 5 points are on the PCB for sure - that's what I want to identify. Where they go to on the SCART is no problemo
Hi, I have a pinout - I don't know how the socket pcb pin configuration is as I don't have an original to bell out - this is my question
I think it should be like this: http://www.mmmonkey.co.uk/pc-engine-rgb-mod/ http://www.mmmonkey.co.uk/core-grafx-rgb-mod/
Thanks a lot for the detailed reply pza Got it sorted now! Word to the wise - I bought a £2 delivered 9V PSU from ebay for the core grafx - I had loads of wavy shadowing on the screen. Spent quite a bit of time checking my wiring & components but the psu was to blame for the noise :/
