Hi to all assemblers, first post here. I've just went into some trouble with my shiny and beloved Pc engine LT. The unit worked fine then one day i opened the lap top the image disappeared. The sound and game could run and i've got an image at some point of opening and then, when the screen was fully opened, bam, the LT could not display image. Black screen of death maybe... I've disassembled the LT and the problem came from a short cut in the ribbon cable that links the main pcb to the screen. Did my best to repair it as i'm not really an electronic expert and went with some fix that works. And now i've got the strange feeling that the image is a little bit shaky, with a little "buzz" in the pixels not that really annoying. I can see it when i concentrate on the matter (like a dead pixel syndrome). I can't tell if the image was like this before the repair (and before the black screen of death) or if something else broke when i did the fix (that's a tricky system to put hands in). Anyway just asking to LT owners if they had experienced this kind of light shake in the pixels... thanks for reading and sorry for bad english
1. LT capacitor need to be replaced 2. LT screen is the kind that will degrade until useless 3. Cable broke from drying out, not getting cut All part of it getting older, sadly.
The screen itself seems normal as the aux. entry in TV mode is unaffected. I'd go with the capacitor or dried out cable way. Man i wish i could repair it :banghead:
