Guys, I have a question about an issue I have with PC Engine Super Darius 2, maybe someone can throw some light on it? Basically, I burnt an image of it some time ago, and was surprised that it has no music during the intro, although on level one the music and sound are fine, I then played through again after dying and going back to title screen, and the music was missing in game! Thinking it was my burn, I re-did it, and got the same problem, so just accepted it. As I like to pay for games I enjoy, I bought it a couple of weeks back, and when it arrived fired it up, forgetting about the music issue - but you know what I am going to say now! No music on the intro or title screen (odd, but fair enough), but after playing level one and two with music, then dying and re-playing, no music on the first stage! (not checked past that). Is this just a poor master done by Taito back in the day, can anyone confirm this is what happens with their burn, or retail copy? Thanks, Paul
What did you burn w/? This is actually an issue when you back up PC-Engine CDs. I don't keep up w/ new software, but back in the day you needed to use Disc Juggler or maybe a specific version of CDRWin. 2x speed won't hurt either.
No problems with my burning, everything always works OK! As I said, the same thing happens with the retail release!
Do you mean the issues with downloaded images having the sound compressed into MP3 (to save download time) rather than WAV? And thus not playing correctly. I don't remember having to use specific software to burn, but I've not kept up with it all either. As for the OP, sounds like a hardware issue here too. What happens to other games?
