    Hello,

OK I'm getting a bit desperate here, I've been time on the net and store trying to procure a PC-FXGA DOS/V [IMG] one showed up cheap on ebay but I missed it :angry , another one from germany popped up on ebay for £300 (no way) and then one on Yahoo japan that was also off my budget.

Two solutions: Give up :smt009 or buy the much much cheaper version the PC-98 PC-FXGA PC98 but then since this item runs only on old Japanese computer of the PC 9800 series, I'm facing a new challenges.

Finding a complete kit without screen so I can finally play around with the FX-GA.

Anyone has any idea how feasable it is to find one of these computers in europe?

Is it possible to find one in Japan still?

    Many thanks

    Sabre

Pretty much Yahoo Japan only. If there are bids on it that are higher than you want to go, that generally means the item is out of your reach. Or did it get no bids?

Finding a ten year old computer in Japan without getting a POS or 300 pounds in shipping fees?

    Just get the dos/v one.

That's what I thought too, worth a shot anyway, I definitely want a DOS/V. I've got the system ready (it currently holds my DTL H2000) all the japanese software, DOS/V, Windows 95 jap.

I just can't find the damn card at reasonable price :smt100

    Many thanks for your comments

I'm just curious, but what does this kind of hardware do?

Links on google just divert me to Japanese sites.

I think a couple of years ago you wrote an articles on the FX-GA, check http://assembler.roarvgm.com/PC-FXGA/pc-fxga.html

That was the first time I heard about the FX-GA so basically it's your fault Kevin :angry if I am hooked up on finding one of these babies!!!

No seriously thanks so much for that website, we all learned a lot from it :p .

Did you ever saw/heard about the official development kit for the PC-FX? I saw on several occasions the HU7 devkit for the PC Engine, but the FX dev kit seems to be very obscure.

Check that article Mark30001 linked above you'll learn a lot on this mysterious Item. I'm not surprised you were redirected to Japanese website, there was a small community of people there developping homebrew games for the FX-GA. There was not interest in the west for that item, docs and software are in japanese.

What's makes the FX-GA unique is that it had the HuC6273 3D chipset, which made 3D possible on the FX platform. I'm pretty sure that this chip was later meant to be added to the PC-FX via one of its expansion slot. Despite rumours saying that Power VR would do the add-on. It's just a shame they didn't release it at all.
