I know you said you're not into Battlefield and the like, HOWEVER there is a modification for Battlefield 2 that is absolutely incredible. I played this game exclusively for around three years. The mod is called Project Reality. The only thing is it demands a lot of time and attention to learn the ins and outs. It's completely worth it.
Although this is one of my favorites and recommend it to everyone, it's a really old game... not sure if Johnny is looking at playing old games.
- Aliens vs Predator ( the new one ) I find it very faithfull to the series. The gameplay of the 3 races are really realistic and the best you can get from these franchises.
Super Meat Boy! If you like difficulty platform games ;-) Also, Team Fortress 2 is still a good game.
Team Fortress 2 is OK is you fancy some PvP now and again Homefront was ok but it only lasts for 5 hours or less. Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is a fun 2 player co-op game, but it is download only. I believe GamersGate have it on sale at present. Orcs Must Die! is pretty good if you're into tower defence type games and if you're not, you should buy it anyway. PAYDAY: The Heist is ok but there are only 6 or so levels and IMO the first is the best and it goes downhill from there. Rage was good but it only lasted for 14 hours and it was quite repetitive but it is worth a playthrough at the right price. Resident Evil 5 - love it or loathe it, it is almost a different game altogether on PC as it looks so much better and it works with the xbox 360 controller too. It isn't on sale much though and even then capcom seem to want a lot of money for 'the brand' despite the fact that the game is 3 years old and a lot of die hard fans hate it
TF2 is okay if you can find some players who actually care about the game instead of just collecting hats.
I don't understand this at all. I play a lot of servers and see people trading for weapons rather than hats, maybe I just aren't going to the right servers?
