Over the last couple of weeks, I've noticed (a total of 3 times) that it makes a loud CLICK/CRACK noise after being on for a while. The monitor is a BENQ XL2410T and i've had it since it came out early 2011. I'm assuming it's a capacitor or something failing but not sure. It actually makes me jump when I hear it due to it being so loud. Is there anything I can do to find out what it is? Is it potentially a fire hazard? Should I just wait for it to actually fail?
I get this not only with my monitor but with my TV as well, happens the same way as yours does, after prolonged use. i always thought it was something to do with heat it makes when its on ? its been happening for a long time and and im not noticing anything bad atm
