Hey Everyone, Lets say I am outputting my display from the PC to TV using HDMI. What happens if I go full screen into a game which can't run at HD resolution? Will the up-scaling occur at the graphics card/os level, or will it send everything over HDMI stock and let the TV attempt to upscale it?
Exactly. you'd just get the resolution that the game sets to begin with or if you went into the options you'd be able to see the maximum resolution for that game and set it to that if you wanted to. I believe it would send the picture to the TV as it would the Monitor and fit the image to whole screen at the set resolution.
If your picture is off kilter use the auto adjustment option in your tv settings menu with your televeision remote and you should be set
be advised however that lower resolutions, although displayed, are still scaled. as you may already know, most TVs don't have good scaling for Old World resolutions so it is often a good idea to scale your image before you send the video signal. You just know the TV's upscaler will do a poor job.
