hey if I want to put some labels on my Motherboards, pcbs, or Hard Drives (example making it easy to see what xbox parts match in case they get separated) would I need a certain type of label sticker? or would any type of printable label be ok?

to go 100% sure and safe, you could put them on antistatic tape, that would be the safest way

Non-acidic glue. Or just etch small IDs using the spare space using traces.

Umm, antistatic = ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE. You'd want to make damn sure you don't put it on any part that isn't insulated!

I would personally avoid antistatic (ALL antistatic products are for OFFLINE use). Just use any label. Don't touch CMOS chips etc. and you'll be OK.

    HOWEVER....

It is easier and better to use a tag and tie it to the board. You'll be able to do so through a screw hole.

If you are not worried about the value or anything like that you can just write directly on the PCB...half of my proto boards around here are labeled like that. However on a tag is probably more what you are looking for.
