Those bottle caps are brilliant. Unfortunately, you'll probably have rotted your teeth away long before you get the complete collection. :death

And there are also similar (but much less cool than the caps and tape) SMB character trading cards which came with my bottle of Pepsi Twist recently.

Hmm... I still haven't seen those bottle cap or tape ones in any shops near me. Does anybody know if they are sold Japan-wide, or just in the Tokyo or Osaka areas? (The small, lightweight card-carrying bottles might be what they are sending out to the regions that are not the "Big 5 Cities"...

I guess it's worth noting that the full set runs about 3000 yen in Japan. Bottlecaps aren't really known for accruing value either. The Star Wars set is still dirt cheap.

  11. Do they sell the set on it's own, as seems common with Gachapon collections?

Individuals do. There's quiet a few full sets on YJ at the moment. Just wait. You can get a set of the Star Wars bottlecaps for like $10. I hate to say it, but the Japanese are the biggest fanboys when it comes to Nintendo. Most Club Nintendo items went for small fortunes when they came out, then dropped in price like 30-40% several months later.

Yakumo: the tape thing reminds me, any chance you can get your hands on a roll off "Hard Off" tape? That stuff would be so cool to have around in copious quantities :D

:D Hard Off tape? I'll ask the guys in the shop. You never know, maybe you'll get lucky :D

Meh, do you think they sell the entire set in Nakano or one of those Akihabara shops already?

Probably not, although in some place like Kichijouji you might find someone selling the set on the streets.

I was thinking about that, but I haven't seen any in Kichi selling this stuff. Meh, I've got the 9. Patapata and just got the 1. Mario today, but I don't wanna go through a bunch of Pepsi just for this stuff.
