    part 2
    part 3

So this bloke has almost sunk SoA, Reebok, XBox and the odd soccer team. EA is next? :p
But seriously it's fun listening to him. His performance with the 360 was decent.

Microsoft have been let off easily with the RROD scandal. Them landing in 3rd place eventually is a fair punishment?

I think losing the amount of consumer trust they've lost is punishment in itself. People tend to forget the atrocious life cycle of early PS2's, though, which has always struck me as odd. I had friends who were early adopters of the PS2 that had a regular 6-month return cycle for the first few years. The 360 situation is more or less an exact repeat of that, but somehow with the internet in tow it's become a much bigger issue this time around, which is certainly justified. Somewhat ironically, the PS3 is built like a brick shithouse, and that's great. I daresay the next Xbox will be solid as a rock as well. Sometimes companies learn from their mistakes.

Very true but what I think differentiates the PS2 problems from the 360 is that for the most part the PS2 could be fixed at home by someone with minimal skills at repairing electronics. The same can't be said about the 360. Add to that waiting a few weeks for your system to be repaired (often multiple times) and the anger tends to be reinforced.

Yeah, the PS2 was pretty 360-style with it's death rate. Thing is, yeah you can fix it yourself, but for the people who can't, there fucked. At least MS repairs them for free usually.

The original Playstation was pretty flaky as well. In any event, I'm not really sure the fault being fixable is much of a defence. Nice for the people that knew what to do, but indistinguishable for the rest.

An anagram of Peter Moore is Mere Pooter...

I must be lucky with PS hardware, never had a single issue with any machine. Even lug my PS3 in my checked in luggage and 4 countries twice round the world and not a single issue. :)

I think the original PS was the worst out of anything, the big gray ones. It really blew being a kid and having your PS crap out. Least I learned a bit about electronics ripping mine apart trying to fix it, lol.
