Not really. but read this: http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/758/758402p1.html It seems that Sony (more specifically its agents, an employed company specializing in promotion and advertising), after copy pasting some Wii-related text regarding Metal Slug, had the bright idea of using a promotional image of Project Gotham 3 for the XBOX 360, in order to promote its own Gran Turismo HD game! Brilliant! I wonder where they got that inspiration from? It would seem to me that they have no legal department or that they re under-paying them
Lol that smells like lawsuit!!! they just grabbed the image from the web...h: Kudos to the web team though  Check this out as well, a GoW advert at the back of a Playstation magazine... Sounds like that Sony isn't the only one trying to fail the PS3 This is so funny, Sony can't just stop making one mistake after another, priceless, I feel sorry for the poor people working for them though... Sabre
Hmmm, whether or not that's something trully official or either a product of mistake(SUCH mistakes happen ;p)there is one sure thing. Sony's black suits will make sure that ,for the good of the gaming community, pgr is actually the stolen ,and of course of bad quality, footage from the new gt. :katamari:
Its real, I was there when it happened. Some people on NeoGAF picked it up (an MS employee of all things - reportedly it was circulating in the office). A good laugh was had by all and if you search for: http://images.google.be/images?q=Grand+Turismo+HD&ndsp=18&svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&start=36&sa=N Look what image comes up XD
Dont you guys remember the first days of the 32bits? I recall sony-official mags making these rumors about daytona and other SEGA titles coming to the PSX. Obviously it wasnt true, but most gamers and casuals thought it was real, and bought a PSX instead of a Saturn for that reason. If you ask me sony is trying to pull the same ol' trick again, hoping the mainstream will believe it, again... I wonder if that will work again since today this kind of fake hype tends to have a low lifespan, with the widespread use of forums and all that...
Those rumours came about after the Saturn died. At the beginning Ridge Racer was supposed to see a Saturn conversion, however.
The Saturn didn't finally die until 2000 or was it 2001? These "Sony are getting Sega games" rumours where around in 1996. I remember them well. Also the Saturn WAS getting a port of Ridge Racer and Cyber Sled and another Namco game. I even saw a very early version of Cyber Sled with my own eyes  Yakumo
Rumours in the playground perhaps, but the first press reports I read were in '97 or '98. When I say die I am referring to the USA and Europe and a decent release line up, not obscure Japanese dating sims!
Thats called "word of mouth" and is considered the most powerful kind of advertising by most companies. So, if the average joe hars from even steven that the PSX is getting SEGA games he's gonna believe it, unless hes a sega fanboy:lol:
Man how can you be so naive? gossip and bad PR is old as the industry itself... Do you think sony used these pics to keep costs down? the costs of a lawsuit far outgross those of a simple ad agency. If you want to believe this is mere coincidence, go ahead...
That would be something cool to see. h: Could you provide any more info on this Namco support on the Saturn?
I'd love to but all I know is that Ridge Racer was in the planning stage and that Cyber Sled was in production. At the very beginning of the Saturn’s Japanese life I had a friend who had contacts within the industry. He was the one who provided the videos and demo discs that I saw all those years ago. The Cyber Sled game was very early in development with almost no textures, glitchy polygons and in some cases NO polygons just an invisible barrier. The game could be viewed from behind the sled or above however the above view was just a wire frame effort. Other early stuff this guy introduced me to included the CG mock of Panzer Dragoon (The one people say is 32X footage), The Daytona car high resolution demo and a fighting demo using shapes based on the virtua fighter engine. I'm not sure if I ever showed these things to another member of this board when we were in out late teens but I'm sure he did see them. If you did (you know who you are  ) and made a copy of the tape then please send me a PM !! I'd love to see this footage again. Yakumo
