This guy is such a massive, entitled douche. Oh no, someone criticized me, I'm going to have a toddler-like fit despite myself constantly being an asshole to everyone else! Hah, where are you gonna get your next shitty platformer with fake 8-bit graphics NOW!?

 

To be fair, calling someone a 'wanker' and a 'tosspot' is hardly criticizing. Not that I mind though, Fish is an arsehole and got what's coming to him. He's done the same thing himself numerous times.

The Funny thing is the last 2 weeks or so he's become my favorite punching bag on Twitter. Each insult getting worse and worse and he would not block me.

 

Heated twitter arguments?... Sounds like middle school.

He couldn't handle being in the semi-public eye. Not everyone is gonna like you bro, especially when you handle yourself like that!

I find the Phil Fish hate somewhat puzzling. Sure. He's not a PR machine. Sure. He's got opinions. Sure. He could've picked his words more elegantly. But, seriously, certain parts of media and people in general keep sitting on watch, waiting for the man to say something, just so they can figure out whichever way it can be utilized to make a dramatic headline - to the point where people are straight out harassing him in hopes of getting some sort of headline worthy reaction.

And yet, your post is in no way an improvement on any foul or provoking thing that man has ever said.

The difference is that I'm just a guy on a forum, while he was working in the games industry, so you'd expect him to conduct himself more professionally, or at least not whine and bitch when people call him names if he himself speaks aggressively. There's also the fact that the undeserved indie awards Fez won when it wasn't even finished yet have gone to his head big time.

 

Of course, but he also makes it pretty easy to do so. Most of the cases you don't have to bend his words to get an outrageous claim. And come on, replying to someone that he'll never port his precious game to his 'spreadsheet machine', or claiming that his game is actually worth $200 and that he should be charging that is just asking for it. Like they say, "if you can't stand the heat...". He's not the first person who has had to deal with this.

In short, if you can't stand the responses you'll get, don't make claims that seem to have the sole purpose of pissing people off. In this case he was one of the most vocal opponents of the Xbox One because no indie development plans had been confirmed. Once they had, he was asked for his response on it, which he refused. This is his good right. However, he then proceeded to vent on Twitter on how journalists dared to ask him for responses and what gave them the right.

The GT dude's speech was uncalled for. But he's not a game developer. Fish can rage all he want about it, having an argument with him on Twitter is not weird. What is weird is punishing your fans with something they were never involved with in the first place.

 

Can't imagine what his inbox must've been like lately, what with people pesturing him for a comment on every single rumor regarding the new self-publishing system on Microsoft platforms, not because he's knowledgable on the subject, not because he's a prime sample of someone who's had to deal with the issues of the old system, but because they're hoping he'll say some random shit that can be fit into a nice ad revenue collecting headline.

Not sure what the rules of those awards are, but if the game wasn't deserving of it in its state of being unreleased, it most certainly is deserving of any rewards it may now have under its belt; post-release. Unless someone decided to label it the FPS of the year or something, 'cause that'd be kinda strange.

It's kinda sad that people who primarly lives in "the digital age" literally have to deal with people stalking their social media account, taking every single post or status update they make as a their de facto statement and opinion on everything between heaven and earth. It's especially sad that something like Twitter quite literally has become the 21st century's equivalent of the asshole paparazzi.

 

I'm confused, since when are five-year-olds allowed to be game developers? I don't know of anyone else that has a temper tantrum and breaks their toys when they get upset.
