Hello, I have a Philips CDi 910 that's having a disc drive issue.
On the listing, the seller said that it worked with audio cds, but had no games to test.

When I received it, I could not get anything to work on it, because the spindle had been pushed down to the metal chassis below, presumably during shipping. I lifted it up, and after removing a few plastic pieces that may have been smashed because of it, it started to work for audio cds. (I have no games either, and a burned copy of Hotel Mario would glitch up quickly.)
At this point I left it plugged in overnight, and went to sleep.

I checked it the next morning, and the spindle motor would not stop spinning while it was powered on. I also cannot eject the tray after it started doing this, though the tray will close on startup if opened.
I replaced the motor to no avail, and have no clue what could be wrong. Nothing looks fried on the disc drive or the main boards, and I had done nothing else to it before or after lifting up the spindle.

There is a burn mark on the power board, though nothing looks fried. I believe that was there when I got it, though I don't remember. Obviously something like that is good to take in account, but I would think nothing else would work, other than the motor always being on.

I'm not sure what could be wrong, any advice would be great!

If you've got plastic broken, I'd send it back as damaged. It's probably not worth the effort needed to fix. At the very least, it sounds as though the laser mech is misaligned.

They originally came with a foam protective thing in the drive, to protect during shipping.

It was little plastic pieces that came out from under the spindle, so nothing major was broken. Besides, the seller didn't really seem to know what the console was, judging from the description:
"I am not at all familiar with this console or gaming platform...a friend left this with me to sell. He said it was a big deal in the 90's."
I did buy another CDi to try and swap parts around so I can really find out what is wrong. That will arrive tomorrow, so I can mess around with that soon.
As for the "burnt" power supply, it seemed to be more discolored, as no components were damaged whatsoever.

You need to demand a refund. It's broken.

That's akin to saying "oh, it was just some bricks that came loose and fell off the bridge. Nothing serious, keep using the bridge!"

If it took a whack, the mech has become misaligned. Serious enough to stop it working.
