Phoenix Wright (Gyakuten Saiban) DS

Discussion in 'General Gaming' started by Greatsaintlouis, Jan 11, 2006.

  1. I'm trying to get a copy of this game, but for some reason half of the gamestores don't list it on their web inventory, and on places like eBay it's skyrocketing to ridiculous prices of around $50.

I've heard however, a rumor that the Japanese Gyakuten Saiban release on the DS also features the full English translation on the game. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

    Consider it confirmed!

Right on the start screen you can turn it to full english without any japanese at all. Still the japanese in the game is quite simple anyway. So yes the full english version is included. BTW I just found out today the blademaster 2 on the jp ps2 has a full englsih mode as well (not that you would want it!)

Anyway old phoenix is one of the best games of last year imo, the last chapter in particular is superb. It is great that novel type games are starting to get translated, some of the best games I have played are of the novel type - hint hint, tsukihime.

  3. Thanks for the help! Though I do love to support US releases of games like this, I may have to opt for the import just because of the option to work on it in Japanese.

Now the issue becomes finding a copy. The Japanese import ends up costing about the same as the domestic version with the prices at the damn import shops.

Yep JPN version has an english option, I can confirm as well. Lets hope that the upcoming 4 gets and the older games get translated as well.

there were reports(true or not) that Phenix Wright has pretty much sold out completley in US. I ran out and grabbed one, it does seem to be hard to come across. Might be the first DS collectable.

damnt i though trauma center under the knife was going to be rare, ironically atlus made a good print run on it. But i didnt expect the us version of phoenix right to sell out that fast, im guessing capcom didnt think it was going to sell.

    UK release is 31 March
Trauma centre comes out the same day. Fortunately for me, Thats Payday. Now I've gotta find castlevania, Haven't seen it around here for ages...

  10. Castlevania's still fairly common here, should you have to resort to importing.

I hear Trauma Center is a lot of fun as well; thankfully it hasn't soared to Phoenix Wright prices, but it still is utterly absent from any of the local stores here.

Love both Trauma Center and Phoenix Wright. I bought both on the first day they were in stores, since I wasn't sure either was going to be around long due to each being a "niche" game.

  13. I may have to take you up on that offer, virtual alan. I'm going to make one last sweep of the local area tomorrow to see if I can't, but if I don't have any luck I'll let you know. Thanks!

Funny this topic is here as i finally got round to finishing this tonight. WOW such a great game. The last case has so many twists, lasts for absolutely ages too.

If you really like it, id seriously try getting the limited editin boxed set as it has some really nice extras like the art book & the groovy pointy finger stylus.

  16. Importaku, do you have the LE? If so, would you mind terribly getting a picture or two of the assorted goodies? I'm trying to decide if it would be worth getting (and if I could afford it), and would like to know what's included.

It looks like a jewel case style type of thing that hols the game, or are all the DS JPN games like that?
