I don't think there's a Sports Authority here. The only outdoorsy thing I do is surf, and ride my bike (mainly to work -- too many dipshit drivers here for me to do long rides). I do have a very nice view from my apartment (39th floor) but it's got no balcony, or lanai as they call them here, and I've gotta get the security guard to get my surf board out of the closet whenever I want to go. Takes a good 10-15 minutes to get on the road, where as my friends in houses just throw it on their cars and go. Yakumo: Hawaii is a nice place, and very laid back. But it's no contest. I really miss the gridlock.
Uh, you need to look at your pictures a little closer. Here is what I think is pretty neat... check out the view from what used to be my Grandmothers lanai. Look familiar? For the other folks here are a couple of more picts from Hawaii. These two shots are from the Outrigger club. It's a pretty fancy pants type of place, but truth be told, it didn't seem that special.
0_o Obviously. But you know, I drove by not too long ago and my wife told she went there a few times. To be honest, if they didn't have the chain around in Texas in the 90's, I won't know what the hell it is. I do almost zero shopping for anything. I am very much an island these days. Indeed. Look Funk Buddy's 4th picture. See the tall building that goes well out of the top of the picture? Mine is behind that. See the building to the right of that you can only see part of? That's one of the 'twin towers' blocking the sunset in one of my pictures. You can see them both on the very far left of his 6th picture. Small world.
I might steal my brother's camera some day and take pictures of Limerick, and maybe the uni (if you can handle the funk of the 70's buildings!)... but I'm pretty lazy... possibly even more lazy than the_steadster...
Yep, they're pretty close. She sold that condo after she remarried two years ago because her new husband has a house somewhere. If any one is interested, the wall up on top of the hill in my third picture is Punch Bowl. It's a veterans cemetary and that's the new part. I have pictures of the memorials and mozaics of all the Pacific battles I could post if any one wanted. Probabaly not, but I thought I'd offer.
I will definitely put up some more pics in the future (left my SMC at home) but here's one I cherish, taken when I was lost on a bike ride from Amsterdam to my home (about 35km): Taken from my parent's house window last summer: A "polder" (landscape type that's typical of my country) nearby: Additionally, some photos/lomos I took on queens' day in Amsterdam last saturday:
maybe I could get some terrible photos from here in sweden where I live (don't expect to much thought )
Got some very nice pictures from my trip to Western Australia, but I'll make some of the place where I live (Belgium) as well. This might take some while, as I am busy and a bit lazy. ;p
I've decided against using the digital so I can at least take decent pictures for you guys. So once I get paid, I'll buy film for my Minolta SLR and take the pics. Let's hope I can take some pics of the black market without getting caught or mugged.
heh, I'll see what I can do, though most of the windows (THE windows, you know, with the actual women behind them) have signs warning against taking pictures. As a matter of fact I had a few pictures of the not-so-dodgy part of De Wallen (thats how the area is called) on my FTP but I deleted them :-(
These two are from a trip to the mountains in February. I'll take some of my home town/city (it can't decide what it wants to be) later. Warning: These are HUGE. I didn't take them - my friend did.
Freind of mine lives in Zwindrecht and nearly all of the houses have rooms in the loft/attic area....where in the UK virtuall all of them don`t. Bloody hell.........I was in NL for the last Queen Birthday......a year ago already :smt009 Will try and get some of near my home but...will post a link as I will try and get large scale so you can see the whole of London...........near the office is a bit naff really......Tower & London Bridges, St Paul`s, Millenium Wheel, Big Ben....usual stuff :-D
Yeah, attic rooms rule, I think as far as socio-anthropological implications go, they are somewhat comparable to US basements And next time you're in Holland shoot me a PM, would be fun to hang out I think!
hmmmm can someone/somebody host my pictures from my trip in Copenhagen ? since then i will put them up (Copenhagen is the Capital of Denmark) the pictures are big.
