Hey guys, I just got my everdrive and was wondering if there's any card that will fit into it that is small enough to fit into a N64 shell without modification? I don't really plan to take the SD card out, so I just wanted to close it up on a N64 shell. Thanks for any help.
AFAIK half-height SD cards don't exist- it would be basically incompatible with everything, because if it's a push to eject, it'll get stuck inside, and if it's a pull to eject then you won't be able to pull it out. Maybe open it up and move the SD card slot down a tad further? Shouldn't be too hard to de-solder it and move it to a better place. EDIT- remove SD card reader, and solder this on. That way you can place the reader anywhere you want, and it's sort of pre-built. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/SD-card-SD-C...s_Adaptors&hash=item27c881f941#ht_2777wt_1156
In that case, find one of the sd cards that actually only fills half the space and cut it in half. Theres a thread about it in this very forum
Some SANDISK cards have a single chip solution which is just that. And some models are transparent, which allow you to not destroy it by seeing where you can safely cut.
Could I get something like this and desodder the USB stick off? http://www.ebay.com/itm/SanDisk-2GB...gital_Camera_Memory_Cards&hash=item3a65be8b0f
This might help http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?37266-Small-micro-sd-card-adaptor
Well there is a reason it lost. Most people are not interested in taking their cart apart to load ROMs onto it. I like the Mega EverDrive approach. If he ever redoes ED64 PCB he should see if he can fit microSD and regular SD.
As I stated in the vote thread, how often does the romset ever really update at this point if you just buy a decent size card? The whole 'I may need to load new roms' argument didn't really vibe with me at all. I agree with your post
