    Simple enough, does it work?

It's 90 watt, is that enough for a mvs?

Should be enough. It consumes 25-30 watts approximately.

Cool, good to know. I googled for a bit and couldnt seem to find how much those things consume.

Seemed a bit stupid to use a 400 watt PSU for it but I wasnt sure how much it did need.

If you pack it up with all high meg count games it could be near 40 watts, but nowhere near 90.

Saw a 80 watt PicoPSU as well, Guess I might as well get that then. Would there be other jamma stuff that needs more?

Saw the vid of your consolized MVS in a Saturn on youtube just now. (assuming it's yours since you're using it as your avatar xD) looks pretty cool =)

Yes that is mine, and I love it to death :)

I think 80 watts will be sufficient for most JAMMA baords, I am no JAMMA expert though. I just have a few boards and all need less than 40.

Jamma boards need +12v, +5v and a handful need -5v.

Looking at the PicoPSU specs, it only outputs 12v. As Alphagamer says, you need a PSU that does 12v, 5v and GND.

The tidiest solution used to be a nice desktop PSU from Jameco (SC-200), but they don't sell those anymore. That generally leaves you with a choice of a PC power supply, or trying to find a small dual-voltage one from something else unfortunately.

It is possible to mod an MV-1C so that it only requires a small 5v adapter though. I'm not sure if it's possible to do this on a 4-slot, but as far as I'm aware the 12v is only needed for the audio amp (it is on the 1-slot).

The mod is also possible on a 2-slot, if you find the right point I think it could be doable on a 4-slot.
