    I'm thinking the device is a flashcart itself or at least a bridge between the PC and 32X to probably seamlessly play test a game. I opened it up and it had RAM chips made by Mitsubishi.

    AFAIK cartridge development systems generally use RAM, as it's much faster than the alternatives.
