Hey guys, I wanted to let you guys know I released my first iPhone game. It's a 3d football game. I tried to utilize the iPhone's best features and made a game I would enjoy playing. Let me know what you guys think. Link to Store App (with pictures): http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=316020798 Thanks guys Jeff.
Out of interest how long did it take Apple to approve this? I am waiting for my app to get through and it has been 'in review' for over 2 weeks now. I am waiting to get paid and I will buy your game and give it a shot. I don't know a single thing about American Football though so I will review it best I can.
Cool! Thanks! I submitted it on May 11th (In Review) and on May 20th it was (Ready for Sale). So, it only took a week and a half. I didn't do anything special other than wait, wait, and more waiting Let me know when your app get's approved too. Love to hear about other iphone developers. Especially in this community. Jeff.
Well my first app is just a soundboard, very simple, I needed a break from the mundane coding nightmare which is my main app and I wanted to test out the application process. I can't believe they're taking so long to review it, apparently they're backed up with the OS 3.0 compatibility tests but my app should literally take seconds to assess.
Yea, I got mine just under the 3.0 stuff, but mine should have no issues with 3.0 compatibility. Oh, here's some screenshots incase people don't have iTunes:
Wow nice looking game, I don't have an iPhone or i'd have bought that to try out but if i ever get an iPhone then i'll definatly try that out.
Looks nice, and it was cheap too. Would have bought it for sure if I had an iPhone! Make a game for PSN and I'll buy it ;-)
Ok, nice graphics, very addictive, I had absolutely no idea what goal I was aiming for but that's because I don't know the rules of the game I guess. Wouldn't it make more sense to replace the targets with animated players and maybe stand some randomly placed fixed opposition in the field or am I missing the point?
Twimfy, If the iPhone was an Xbox 360, I would say that's doable! With 2 animated guys, it was too slow, so I opted for targets. It's basically american football with no defense and your the quarterback. You get prompted with a play (you can AU [audible] out of and manually pick a better one 3 times) and then when you hike the ball you need to aim (accelerometer) and throw (swipe finger) to try and hit the targets. Further the targets are out, the more points you get! It's fun to try and go for the long bombs! You're basically battling against the clock and field position, because you need to get 1st downs to keep progressing down the field and try to score touchdowns just like in american football. Let me know if you have any more questions or thoughts about improvements! Jeff.
I thought the players might be a little heavy on resources. I wouldn't say you need to add anything else really, I love it as it is, it's so addictive. I left you a 5 star review in iTunes. EDIT: For some reason I can't see my stats because the 'new high score' label hides it even after I put my name into it. Also if this sells a good amount of copies, an online leader board is a must, this game is great and requires a lot of skill and timing, it has a great competitive element.
Twimfy, Thanks! My first update will include an online leaderboard. Everyone who plays it tells me the same thing! lol. I guess I gotta do it! Thanks about the name image covering up the stats, I actually thought I fixed that before uploading the game, Hmmm, I will need to look at that again. Thanks! Jeff. PS Hope your app comes out soon! I've hard Non-USA submissions take longer for some reason, other's have complained about that, not sure why it would take longer.
Thank's but to be honest I wouldn't be surprised if it gets rejected, there are a couple of unwritten rules which I have unknowingly broken.
I got this, don't know anything about American football and it took me a while to get used to the controls, but damn, it's fun once you do!
Dont have an iPhone, but going by the screenies and other users comments, keep up the good work:thumbsup:
Thanks Guys! Thanks for the support. We'll have to see how this pans out, but I would love to make more games Jeff.
