This, on a PC edition. No ghetto emulation going on like that guy who ran the xbox game on PC. Bought legitimately off steam. Lazy development at its worst, and in a game that criticizes other developers for various things, including lazy development On par with smelling their own farts.
I don't really know though. I assume with the game being a parody that they left it in on purpose, but hey, maybe they are just that lazy.
There is -no- other way to find out the controls for the game, unless you run past the prompts that tell you.
So...a PC game uses an image of a PC controller when showing what buttons do what... What's the problem here?
I think he would prefer a keyboard picture. At first I had the impression that the problem were that the game only has 2 actions.
Sonic Generations on Steam is the same thing, Shows 360 icons and prompts and the control configure screen has a picture of a 360 controller you're setting your controls to.
What did you expect from a "game" that used to be on XBL indie games and is based on a joke that's been run into the ground so hard it's halfway to Australia by now (I bet there's a horse armor reference)? The most embarrassing thing is they're charging money for this, it'd be bad even if it was free on Newgrounds.
So... living under a rock and not notized xinput, have we? (assuming the 360 controller is the problem?) Ever since the launch of the 360, there's been a new gamepad standard added to PC games via DirectX/Xinput, which basically hooks directly up to the 360 pads and will, in compatible games, add Xbox button icons and functionality to the controller. Meanwhile regular/olde controllers are either not supported or utilize generic numerical icons. You get 360/xinput controllers with wires (both first party and third party) and you get wireless adapters for the wireless ones. You'd be surprised by how many games does this once you plug in a 360 controller and press a button ;D So having standards to follow/maintain is being lazy these days? (Or, I guess, if the 360 interface is the only one it shows, and no keyboard layout alternative, THAT would be kinda lazy ... I suppose)
I have that game, the entire thing is a parody. Seriously, it's a joke. I mean, you have to 'buy' DLC to jump in this game, what exactly were you expecting?
It's a joke all right, the fact that they're charging for this shit that is. The actual joke the "game" is based around is painfully unoriginal and unfunny.
Very lazy. I'm currently developing a multi-platform game and it's what maybe 20 lines of code which grabs the device ID and changes the splash screen and inputs accordingly.
