Here's something I thought some of the otaku/gamers/crazy people on the board might enjoy. I got these figurines in a little anime/videogame shop at Harvard Square in Boston. One of them is the Ridge Racer girl, and another one is Sophitia from the Soul Calibur series. I don't know who the other ones are but I take it they're from various Namco games since they all came in a set. Perhaps someone can help me with that. Here are some photos: I'm not sure where they came from, but since most of the stuff at that store was imported from Japan I assume that's where they came from. EDIT: Also, if anybody wants I can take some better pictures. These were taken under rather crappy lighting.
Ah, I have loads of Sega ones just like them. They cost 200 yen each, made by Yuujin as part of their Super Real Gatcha Gatcha series. You know, those capsual machines. Here's some shots of my Sega Gals collection. Sorry about the crappy photo quality but they were takes years ago with a 1.3Mega pixel camera. I really should update them with my new camera. Ariel / Areal / Arel (however you want to spell it) from Puyo Puyo (Compile days) Arsha & Peperogu from Wonderboy 5 Elwing from Shining Tears Hibana from Kunoichi (with and without her mask) Honey from Fighting Vipers Honey from Fighting Vipers (Kinky Version) Morigan from the Vampire series RAcaseal from Phantasy Star Online RAcaseal from Phantasy Star Online (Ver.2) Ramaya from Arabian Fight Sara Bryant from Virtua Fighter 4 Tyris Flare from Golden Axe and finally my two fav' models. Ulala from Space Channel 5 part 1 Ulala from Space Channel 5 part 2 Yakumo
No offense, but whenever I see these, I think of them as some sort of "Action Barbie" for tomboyish girls. But I can't really say anything bad about collecting video game and movie related toys, since I do it all the time. In fact, I have the NECA Epic Scale Balrog coming in the mail. Its 2 feet tall with a 3.5 foot wingspan! :icon_bigg
Three guesses and you still don't get it correct... the Japanese spelling is is Aruru Najya (アルル ナジャ). The English is Arle Nadja. Still no where as kinky as the Vampire Hunter ones. Morrigan and Lilith are erm... That only on Sega consoles / Sega Made character...
I would start collecting these but after shipping and ebay sellers have gotten through with them they are £10 a piece. I`ve seen some pretty explicit Chun-Li and Morrigan/Lillith ones.
Do you see many Soul Calibur figurines like this, I`ve seen the official looking ones in the pretty display boxes by McFarlane. I`m after the Ivy and Mitsurugi figures especially.
I need to get out and take pictures of what I have, I have about 40 to 50 of these figures now, with luck Arle Nadja was the first and only Sega gatchapon figure I got from the Sega Gals collection.
Reiko Nagase from the Ridge Racer games (Mainly Arcade, Playstation) Momo from Wonder Momo (Arcade and PC Engine) Valkyrie from Valkyrie no Bouken (Famicom) and Valkyrie no Densetsu (Arcade and PC Engine) Alice (and the bunny on the right) from Marchen Maze (Arcade and PC Engine again.... why couldn't Namco do characters from Megadrive games sob...) Woman from Soul Caliper or something... Mini Valkyrie, I think from Tales of Phantasia (Super Famicom) Do I get a cookie?
oh i love that valkyre no densetsu figure. such a great and atmospheric game!! also love the remake on namco anthology 2!
