Well, i saw soul calibur 2 for gamecube in overall good condition "no scratches, mint booklet, but box is about a 7 out of 10, so i said what the hell, is just 99 cents, so i bought it together with soul calibur 2 japanese for xbox 10 bucks shipped :), once it arrived, i didnt know what to do, but since i have pso and a bba i decided to try swaping the discs, so i used a copy of action replay, didnt work. it froze when it asked for the key thing, then i remembered i downloaded this trainer for resident evil "boot from a dol which is the trainer with psu" a little menu apears which is like everyother trainer, i selected all off and instead of putting my original re game, i inserted the soul calibur disc and badabim badabum, it worked :) no need to spend 30 or 20 bucks on ar or freeloader, and no need to open up my cube. :-D

Yeah but you'll get some chop as the load is slow.

no, the japanese disc is original, you load the dol which is like 1mb or less "loads in 1 sec" and then just change discs, pso for your import game, and press start, if you need the trainer, send me a pm or something "dont think is illegal, since is a trainer and needs you to own the original game in order to work"

  5. You could just use a ViperGC. Hope they get round the swap-disk problem though.

There is also the SD loader. You need an SD memcard, an SD to GC mem card converter and AR.

yeah, but why spend 70bucks on viper? and 40 on sd crap that is useless and 30 on action replay? if you already have pso and a bba is a good thing to do if you want to play imports, although the switch is alot better, but if you dont wanna mess with your gamecube, is the best choice for the price

  7. I think I only understood half of that... :smt009

From what I got, you DO need some sort of other disc or mod to get this to work.

Sortof like "boot imports/backups on a non-modified PS2. Hard drive and BBA required." :-(

From what I gather its based on the PSO exploit to let you stream/download things from your PC to your GC.

That's right. You need your Gamecube to have the BBA and have it networked to a computer for this to work. Still pretty cool that it does I guess.

Any chance you can give me a rundown on how to set this up? I mean, I have PSO and a BBA...but never really bothered with details of the exploit because I thought it was only for loading pirate disc images.

I've never done it, sorry. Google will no doubt be able to provide what you're looking for though.

There are legit reasons why you might want to do this... just not too many, there really aren't all that many emulators available. I believe there's a port of Doom :-D

you can also load nes roms and n64 roms ;), ok, just do this:

    1: get bba and pso
2: set up everything "can be found on google"
3: load the dol from the trainer into PSU "name of program that uploads dol files to the gamecube to execute, the loaders have dol and exe, but this trainer only has a dol, so load the load with it.
4: select online on PSO and it will connect to your pc if you configured it correctly and execute the resident evil trainer
    5: swap discs
    6: press start
    7: enjoy

it would be great if some 1 with pal pso and bba could try this to see if it works, if you need the trainer, pm me.

So instead of buying an Action Replay or Freeloader, you can buy PSO and the BBA? It's helpful for those that have it, but a Freeloader is like $30, and the BBA+PSO is like $70...

just like you said. if you have them, then no need for the other stuff. I think this is more useful for europeans, because they cant use the switch as we can, hope it works, please some 1 try i.

  16. Yeah, as I said, it was like the PS2 thing - it's hardly doable on a 'stock' gamecube, some peripheral or whatever is still required. :smt009 I'll just stick with the freeloader for now.
