Sorry, I meant in their archives not actually developing on the hardware! The hardware was rebuilt from the ground up. The quick turnaround was because it turned into a vendetta. A large amount of resources went into making the PS hit market and hurt Nintendo, blessed by CEO Norio Ohga.
I'm sure you guys are already aware of this, but the PlayStation's controller ports are very similar to the SNES's. Most likely they planned on using SNES controllers, and then modified it slightly to avoid patent infringement.
Ah, I see. Hmm, you could be right. They may just have something locked away somewhere. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. Yakumo
Ah yes, that would explain it. Maybe some day we'll see Nintendo and Sony becoming reacquainted bedfellows again, but definitely not anytime soon that's for sure!
Hmm, I am not trying to derail the topic BUT if Nintendo were to ever be acquired, I'd hope it would be by Sony. Anyway, wasn't a demo of The 7th guest put on cart and shown as a tech demo (behind closed doors, of course) at a CES? If that is true, I would love to see that cart come out in the open if it hasn't been destoyed.
Dunno if it is real or not but sure looks like a Snes style http://www.n-sider.com/images/inline_images/inline-4-231-12.gif
There were a number of meanings but the most obscure insider one was that it stood for Enhanced Nintendo Optical System. ENOS "Lives".
There is a prototype and it was shown at CGE one year. There is a Disney game (not sure how complete) as well. I made an offer of 5k many years ago (10 years ago perhaps) and was turned down.
I have 7th Guest (got it when it was released on the computer) and it's good. Sure the story is a little camp. But I loved it, I'm currently playing it again, trying to solve some of the puzzles I couldn't before. (There are way to skip puzzles, but then you don't see the video hints to the main story. 11th Hour, the second game is a bitch! The puzzles are hard as fuck, I'm stuck on the mouse puzzle. :crying: =hugh
One of the people who was working as a producer at Virgin during the early 90s sent me an email a while back saying that 7th Guest was actually working on SNES CD hardware. I imagine the hardware was quite well advanced, but perhaps rightly (considering how terrible the Sega CD went over), Nintendo decided against releasing it. Probably the only look at SNES CD/ Play Station hardware is on Game Rave: http://www.game-rave.com/psx/playstation_perfect_guide/features/feature_psx_fami/index.html
