    Hello everyone!

I've done bit of research but cannot seem to find what i am looking for. Is there any other way to play backups asides from trying to locate a modchip? I've looked around and cannot seem to find one anywhere.

    Thanks!

Dreamcast modchips aren't common to find, if arguably easier to install than a BIOS chip.
    Mainly used for original imports.

Most systems read CD-R without modding. It's been said bad rips and burns may degrade its laser over time.

Dreamcast mod chips only allow retail imports to work. Only a few NTSC-U systems made late in theife cycle October 2000 or later could not play backups without a bios chip refitting.

Just burn the .cdi image you have (the game) with DiscJuggler or BootDreams at the slowest possible speed on a CD-R (not RW) and boot it up.

In that case, a modchip is the way to go. They're sold here on the forums aswell.

saturn is different. on it backups, region, and 50/60hz (if necessary) are separate jobs.

with dreamcast, most isos will autoboot or you can use a boot disc then load the game. with saturn, like the guys above said, a modchip is the way to go, add a action replay / mem card and the saturn is awesome. some systems like 3DO will boot cdrs with no issues at all.
