Few years ago while I was chatting on a videogame chatroom and someone said that he is often playing Touhou in Easy Mode I replied with the famous Touhou in-joke "Eeeeeeeh? Seriously? Easy Mode? How lame!" his reply was "Why not? If you're drunken.". Then he said that every time he's getting drunk he's playing bullet hell shooters like Touhou in Easy Mode and his friends are recording him just for the laugh. I'd like to do the same thing even once...but there is one problem: I don't like alcohol. I only like beer but you have to drink loooooot of beer in order to get drunk and my stomach can't stand more than two bottles of beer (maybe three in rare, special cases). Apart from this story I have heard some cases of people having better progress in some videogames when they are drunk to the point that they even managed to beat stages that they couldn't beat when they were sober. So I would like to hear your stories (or your friends' stories) about playing videogames while being drunk.
It can be true in some cases. Once when I was pretty drunk I played Beatles Rock Band on the highest setting and got far better scores than I had ever done while sober. I just seemed to be able to move faster.
drink some good beers that are like 8%+. 3 or 4 pints and you should feel a little buzzed at least. i've been to this arcade in Vegas drunk a few times. i was still able to beat all my buddies in everything from NFL Blitz to Marvel Vs Capcom 2.
Recently I've started drinking this Champaign cocktail that is 9% and comes in 350ml or 500ml sizes. After just 1 500ml can you are well on the way to feel good land. It's fantastic with cheese
I always find that I run out of talent pretty quickly when attempting to play driving games or first person shooters after drinking ...
That's funny, because the first time I beat Hangar 18 in Guitar Hero II many years ago I was very drunk.
A while back I was playing Sonic CD on real console after downing a 12 pack of 11 oz beers in like 30 minutes. It took me 5 minutes to realize I was against a wall the whole time... thank god I didn't decide to chuck my model 2 Sega CD 32X setup out the window. That'd been expensive as hell... Poor controller didn't survive my fury though... At least it was a cheapo copy by Retrobit.
depends on the type of game for me, and the quantity of beer. Sometimes i can play some action games better after 1-3 beer, just because it calms you down a little and you do less mistake of the nervous type. But more than that and your reduced faculties are starting to overcome the "calmed down" bonus. Otherwise i drink beer in games that have alot of loading, something to do when you are not doing anything. Im currently playing final fantasy one the PSone and during easy combat when all you gotta do is ( X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-.._) I drink beer at the same time.
Every time one of my friends gets back from college we get wasted and play Mario Kart and Conkers BFD. Always a good time. I'll have a party every now and then, and mario kart will for sure be running on the n64.
You should never drink while gaming. You could virtually kill someone, and you could end up with a GUI (Gaming Under the Influence, or Graphical User Interface).
If you can only drink 2 or 3 BOTTLES, I do not think you are in a position to say it takes a lot to get drunk. You will find your tolerance is pretty low and 5-6 would do it.
I played a lot of Famicom stuff while drunk. However, I found that alcohol is not quite the best thing to influence you while playing games.
Only memorable one I've had was after a couple of beers. I was getting a little dizzy and decided to play Earthworm Jim and maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan was it fun hahahaha. I should probably throw a party with my friends were we drink and play Samba De Amigo, that'll be fun.
used to love playing games while drunk, played the game "americas army" online drunk all the time great fun, and it was free. back in the days of teamspeak and ventrillo. most recent drunk gaming was in mates house on the xbox 360 playing a sega megadrive compilation, attempted a playthrough of streets of rage and golden axe, done better then expected after a crate of carlsberg export and a bottle of stoli vodka
