Heyo. I bought a faulty PS1 and found a pretty messy mod chip install. I removed it but one of the solder points had already done it's damage and broke a trace. I'm trying to identify which leg the trace leads to. I was hoping someone on the forum would already know which leg I should solder to.
I can't be certain but you need to scrap a bit of the trace by the chip to expose the copper and use a mulimeter to determine were it goes and the other trace leads to a via.
Holy shit, speaker wire. Just follow the broken pad, find a wide are of trace and remove the top coat with a fiberglass scratch pen. Solder in a jumper. Be sure to use decent gauge wire.
Oh well. Trace repair is fine. I guess it's just finally failed from use. Audio CDs work though. This unit should be perfect for Feuerbacher's audio mods. (Although if there is a way to repair this then let me know!)
