Hi,
As you read in the title, I have a PS1 SCPH-9001 which has some issues.
I have tested the controller port in a SCPH-7501 and it works just fine, but when its in the SCPH-9001 it doesnt detect my controller. so i've came to the conclusion that theres a trace that has been broken or some corrosion. is it possible i can still fix this board?. I have my multi-meter and soldering station ready. If you came across this problem or have a good idea what the problem is, please help a member out :D.

Have you tested another controller port in the PS1 SCPH-9001?

Isnt there a connector on the motherboard? Have you checked that?

ive tried, but it seems like they're all connected. maybe theres a trace thats broken somewhere.

*Edit* I've tested the socket it seems to be connected to the board.

all right. I dont why i didnt think of this sooner... so i decided to google the problem and it seems like a fuse blew (PS605) on the board but to make sure, is it safe to bypass this fuse just to test to see if its the issue?. Also if it is the issue what type of fuse should i get. im also starting to think the fuse PS604 is malfuncting as well because it does not power up correctly most of the time.

No, the fuse is there for a reason. Get the correct fuse then test.

I bypassed a fuse and ended up in a fire. So take my word for it.

PS605= 0.7 Amp
PS604= 2.3 Amp

Turns out it was the fuse. I took a chance and bypassed it and it works!. now time to find a fuse. Thank you for taking the time to help me out. I appreciate it.

P.S No fire ;)

Something drew too much power and they blew. I've had it happen myself but you do want to replace the fuse for sure unless you want to risk killing it.

I do plan on getting a fuse. I only bypassed the fuse to be absolutely sure that the fuse was the problem but now i dont know what to use for an alternative. would you happen to know what fuse i should get. SMF?, Through hole? what ohm's and wattages also what specifications. im lost when it comes to fuses and power etc. which one i should get.

*Update* Hmm... im experiencing another problem. It seems like it doesn't want to give me the boot up sequence unless i apply a lot of pressure to one part of the board... this problem was happening before i bypassed the fuse*
