    PSIO Developers Network!

Well I started up this website for anyone and everyone interested in Yaroze and PlayStation development.

People have been asking for a site like this, so I paid for the domain and built it.

    http://psdev.psio.com.au/

Hopefully it will gain attention from some members here.

I am still working on it. It will take sometime to perfect and get running, but still, please let me know of any issues or features that you think I should add.

I have started uploading some of the tools stuff and getting it organised, and I also plan to have a huge FAQ / guide system to help some people who ask so many questions such as, "how do I install my DTLH board?", etc.

Any help is appreciated if you want to chip in :)
And, of course let me know what you think (this shall be good).

    Less websites, more development!

Technically, none of the homebrews showing there, including mine, are Yaroze projects. Plus, nobody would use that for developing stuff for realz.

Yaroze and PS1 projects are shown. It is for both.

Why would anyone not use it? I still have to organise it and fix a few things though.

I agree that a message board like Spritesmind for MD development (http://gendev.spritesmind.net) is needed. Nowadays newsgroups like #psxdev on yahoo groups are seen as too old fashioned and put a lot of people off. As long as the idea is executed well, why not a forum.

    Done. Up and running now.

Join away and post away all your projects :)

*REMEMBER* The best ones will be shown on the homepage under 'Homebrew'. We can also start competitions now!

dude stop worrying about other peoples projects and where they store them, your currently working on a very complicated project so why are you worrying about other stuff, forget about creating new sites and get some updates on your PSIO one, again no one has any idea whats actually going on with it, your wasting time and money that you could be better put into PSIO

I wanted to start a website only for the PlayStation 1 and Yaroze.

I work on many projects at once. I even go to my garage and build my Mortal Kombat II arcade machine. Everything has kind of slowed right down, because my soldering iron broke. Again. So, I am making good use by getting the sites out of the way. Dont worry.

No, I don't think assemblergames is the right place for a real PS1 dev forum. This is just something used because it's what is around. If you check gendev.spritesmind.net , you will see how a "real" dev forum has to be.
Come up with some host that can host a forum for ps1dev, people.
I had very good free hosting once but I don't do anymore.
(no, invisionboards, ipbfree, etc. are NOT real hosts)

Because Yaroze is basically a stripped down version of PSY-Q, and in my opinion it's rather useless for developing anything beyond a simple cracktro or a small demo.

Oh. Well it is there anyway, so if some obsessed fan boy loves his Yaroze, then he can share his stuff

Hey, your idea is not that bad - although it's true we need more developers, games... definitely, we need stuff to upload. But thanks to SDK like Tails92's this has become a lot easier indeed. I eagerly want to see my games there!

Well I did not want to make an entire database just for a few people to upload.

So, instead I made forums. You can sign up, start a topic (follow the example) and then I will add it to the homepage :)

BTW, I started writing a guide for interested developers on PSX. It's not complete at all, but I wanted to release it because it covers the most important parts of the installation of Cygwin, the program used in Windows to manipulate the SDK. Besides, the source code of a very simple game of mine is also included - it's well commented IMHO so that newcomers understand the basics of PSXSDK.
