Playstation 2 Controller Middle Version A - Help Me Repair

Have a Sony Dualshock 2 Playstation 2 controller.

It doesn't want to power on, meaning that not even the Analog LED turns on when plugged in.

It is a middle version Model A.

Here is a sample picture of what I'm dealing with.

I already reflowed all the solderjoints.

Nothing has happened.

Already tried aligning the circuit sheet and taping it down with electrical tape.

Didn't try cleaning the board and circuit sheet, though - (The 18 black marks that the circuit sheet lies on top of)

Should I splice a little bit down the cord to check?

Or what could be causing this malfunction?

Don't tell me to junk it. Every controller deserves a second chance.

 

Have you checked for continuity from the plug to the controller? Often a wire breaks inside the cable due to the winding/unwinding.

 

I have a few ps-2 controller's I took the knob's off for someone a while back. If you need extra part's I would be happy to send you 1 or 2 of them. Are you in the USA? Got to go see if they are Playstation 2 Controller Middle Version A. But it very well could be the cord like Sonny_Jim said.

 

I need the cords complete with the white connectors (not cut from the board).

 

All right. Ill be back. Got to go dig them out of my garage.

Edit:

I found 2. ! is a version A, the other is a knock off ps-2 controller. Both have no knobs.
