hi recently my playstation 2 would suddenly power off and the power light would rapidly flash red
and i dont hear the fan working any more could someone kindly direct me to where i can buy a NEW fan compatible
with the FAT V7 Playstation 2 preferably one that runs at 300+ RPM rather then the stock 2000 RPM

If I had to guess, it's a standard PC fan. It's either a 40mm, 50mm, or 60mm fan. I had some 80mm fans lying around and they are as tall as the fat PS2, so it is most likely a 50mm or 60mm fan. You can get them on Amazon.com and RadioShack still sells 40mm fans, perfect for Dreamcast repairs and overclocked N64s.

hthis guy used a 60mm, 12v fan. as for the speed, you could maybe add a rheostat and tune it to your liking.

So it is a 60mm after all. I had a feeling it would be one.

Your welcome and if it isn't standard PC connections, you could solder the new fan directly to the mobo.

Better than my rheostat suggestion I guess, as long you can find the room for it.

Don't forget the fan width. IIRC it's 60x15mm.

Did the fan stop spining ? You likely blew it's fuse by letting the wire latch with the metal cage.
