Playstation 2 weird issue, please help

Hello, so I've had this problem with my PS2 (fat model) for a long time and was wanting to fix it. The console will place pressure on disc in play for a while and form factures/lines extending from the hub. I am not sure what causes this.
I had opened it before to clean and check the fans (and hook back the control cable connector; accidently pulled but no damage), so it might be that I caused something to shift when lifting the internal body or the disc tray became misaligned or maybe the body is sitting not exactly right (could it be that touchy)?
In any regard, I have no idea what I would be looking for to remedy the problem as the issue seems to be very uncommon.
Anyone have suggestions?
