Here was a question I was thinking myself yestera as I was looking threw threads about ps1 modchips.....what is there to do with these old ps3 dongles when the jailbreak was first released? I have an x3max and a genuine ps3 key but I have no idea what use to make of them since cfw has been a thing....has anyone done anything interesting with them? I know that at least my x3max can accept any hex I believe the ps3 key because it is genuine only accepts hex's that any review encrypted for it. Anyhow someone tell me what u can do with these lol
These are useless for their original purpose. You can open one and see if the hardware can be salvaged though. Or put them in a museum ;p
Unfortunately something I didn't want to hear lol....what other things are usb development boards like these used for?.....food for thought tho.....this is the second time of I recall how these dongles worked correctly (spamming a list of commands to simulate a service mode/dongle) that something spamming commands has circumferenced Sony protection. From my readings the psx modchips also spammed code to make a console think a disc was legitimate as well.
