I know its been asked. Buy I just wanna be sure. Coz Im getting a really cheap PS3 20GB from a seller here. He insisted that I have to use the step up transformer. If not the console will 'blow' up. I understand the psu in the console is multivoltage or something right?

The Voltage needed for PS3 USA version is 110v.

Singapore typically uses the same as UK - 240v.

So I can just plug in and play w/o my transformer? I dun wanna fuck up my whole other electronics.

    Thank a lot. :icon_bigg

The PSU in a PS3 is universal, the same way a PC PSU is.So no need for a transformer.

Indeed, I've have a Japanese PS3 and I've used it in Japan (100V), UK & Australia (240V), Hong Kong (220V) and America (120V) so yes it's fine. :D

Unlike the Xbox 360 where in my haste I managed to fry a 110V PSU by plugging it into a 240V socket.

well thanks guy.. Anyway.. sInce the guy insisted. I get the Transformer for free why not keep the Transformer for future use.

I got the 20 PS3 for like 170+USD? With 2 Controllers and a Winning Eleven 9. Plus the PSU. I thought it was a nice deal,so why nt right. This will be my 2nd PS3 at home.
