An anonymous source has recently revealed the complete PS3 development kit. This is only a report of the leak itself, as it is highly illegal to possess and/or to distribute the contents unless you're a fully fledged developer. Read on for the info. "-" No chance for sony this year apparently! Source:http://www.maxconsole.net/?mode=news&newsid=17592
I would rather say: it's illegal to redistribute it if you're licensed, and it's illegal even to be close of it if you're not!
Just as I thought 24 hours after the leak and theres now a way to run back ups on the PS3. Go to PS3 news if you don't believe me.
Actually I'm going to speculate on what I think is going on in the video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXNH6gnLETA&eurl=http://www.ps3news.com/ Lets think back to the PSP, Now when you load a UMD disc, A PMF File plays and displays ICON1.PNG, and other PNG files. I'm going to assume the PS3 also has these files? (or the same kind of files) He ejects the disc, the PS3 is unable to detect that the disc has been removed (due to disc sensor mod perhaps?) Therefore when you insert the new disc, the PS3 reads the new file data on the disc and displays this. When you try to run it the PS3 wont boot the game because its not matching the orig game you first put in. Conclusion, Its a crappy disc swap and has nothing to do with the "leaked" SDK.
I just read that they have released a the loader which seems to be running under the "other OS" installer but I must recommend the no one trys this because it's in pre alpha stage and will erase all your hard drive at the moment.
Well even if it is some rubbishy swap disc method, it still works. Early modding/hacking is always improved upon. Fair play I say.
What ever happened to this since its like no one ever got there hands on this at all. Any ideas if the leak was real or not?
I wish :110: The SDK was apparently leaked on to the net a month or two ago and so far theres been no news at all on custom firmwares or this ISO runner off the PS3s hard drive :-(
