I recently picked up a PS3 Debugging Station system from a guy in my local area. When I bought it from him, it came with two controllers. I happen to notice that 1 of the controllers was a little heavier than the other. The lighter one appears to be a store bought Sixaxis controller but the heavier one has a sticker on the back that says: Model: CBEH0-1018 This device has not been authorized as required by the rules of the Federal Communications Comission. This device is not, and may not be, offered for sale or lease, or sold or leased, until authorization is obtained. This device is being imported for testing (evaluation) or suitability for marketing only and not for sale. It also has a red sticker on the top that says SCEI No032. It also has the Dualshock 3 logo printed on it above the Sixaxis logo. Could this be some sort of prototype controller and does anyone know if these normally come with a PS3 Test Console?
...Must be quite a late revision as both my PS3 Prototype controllers are CBEH-1010's, which have no dual shock/six axis markings.
interesting! can you give us pictures? anyway, try using it on retail ps3 with a game that use vibrations. you'll soon know if its working;
impressive.... no doubt, this is a DS3 prototype.:love2: well looks like you got two things for the price of one
It should read on the back: "This device has not been authorized due to patent infringement" These have been around in some similar form since april? 2007. Very nice find. Open it and take pics! I know some games had rumble taken out because it wasn't released when they intended.
It's probally 'just' a Japanese retail DS3 but imported by Sony to the EU/US. Since it hasnt got the needed logo's (CE etc) \ quality tests, it gets this sticker slapped on.
Well, the Dualshock 3 Controller does work. I tried it out with Army Of Two and and shook like crazy.
