Hi Brand new here so if I'm on the wrong forum I apologise! Also, not really sure if anyone will be able to help but when I google posts from these forums keep appearing so I'm thinking you may be my best bet!! Having a clear out and have found a long lost box which had never been opened from many moves past. It turns out to be the following: Sony Playstation Progammer Tool Debugging Station DTL-H1001 In the box are two controllers - grey in colour (brand new and still in sealed cellophane bags), a power lead (standard UK three pin moulded plug) and a console - blue in colour (looks brand new as still has tape on the front to keep the lid down if that makes sense? although it looks like there has been a sticker of some kind on the back next to the model number and safety blurb sticker) I am totally clueless and just hoping someone can help me as from what I've seen this is no ordinary Playstation! What do I do with it? Should I be testing it somehow and selling it? Is it actually even worth anything? If anyone can give me any assistance I would seriously be very grateful as this seems to be a place where people know :wink-new: Thanks in advance
As the box says, it's a Debugging station. These were used by developers and testers to test and debug games during the development process. It's like a normal PlayStation, but can read also CD-R games (and it may be able to play other region games). It's definitely more expensive than a regular playstation, if you're interested in selling it. Can't say really how much it's worth, but these popup every now and then in eBay; you may want to check prices there (though most of the times they're insanely high). If you're sure it's never been used, you could sell it as New or Like New (since the box has been opened). Not sure if I missed anything, but I'm sure others will provide additional information.
