Playstation ( Debuggingstation ) with screeching noise with just the start up.

So I recently got a Debuggingstation and was testing it out and it has a horrible screeching noise as it's booting or when your looking at the menu. The moment it starts to load a game It plays normally (or at least so far) Any one have any ideas as to why this might be?

Check the pot (happens on regular models) as well.

 

Check to make sure theres no birds either. They tend to make screeching noises.

 

Thanks for the input. I tried swapping the PSU with one from an SCPH-1000 that didn't have the problem and I still get the noise. The sound comes through the speakers. If I mute my TV the sound goes a way entirely. Also It only happens during boot up and while in the Sony Menu. Once I launch a game everything returns to normal. Any other ideas I can try?

 

UPDATE.

OK i did some more testing and found out the sound is still there even while playing games it's just a lot quieter. I also found that music is the only thing that it's playing there are no sound effects in the games. After finding this out I'm imagining that it's probably a bad capacitor some where. Any thoughts?

 

Look for dead caps on the board. Usually they are noticeable. I had a videocard with caps that went bad, they weren't super obvious but close examination should let you know.
