I just bought this thing at my local good will. It's marked "PlayStation CD-ROM Drive" model number DTL-H2010. not mutch showed up googling around . I want to know if anybody knows anything about it and maby how much it's worth. Thanks in advance here's some pictures...
It's an external CD-Rom for the DTL-H2000 PS1 Development kit. You hook it up to a PS1 debugging card and it acts as the ps1 cdrom drive. A complete cdrom unit would have the drive, the cable and the manual. It was included with the early dev kits, but was later replaced with the internal model (i think the part number was DTL-H2010 but someone else should probably verify that). As for price, probably not too much as it doesn't do anything more than play CD's. Nice find tho, it's pretty odd to find one in the wild.
Strangely enough, one just went up on ebay less than an hour ago (yours?). Look up item number 8270808603 EDIT: I know GreatSaintLouis sold one about a decade ago, but i don't remember what it went for...
Hello, it's the external cd-rom used by the devkit dtl-h2000 isa board, so it's no use by itself. It has scratch on it, so i guess you can't sell it for a high price. You should read the Marketplace Rules and Guidelines. Where have you bought it, and for how much? Ps:don't lose the cable, as it is a non regular scsi, without it your cd-rom is worth nothing! Where do you live? Owned by ProgrammingAce!
People just because someone asks what somethign is worth doesnt mean they want to sell it. This is not a sales thread. Also a scratch on something like this is hardly whats going to devalue the item.
that ain't mine on ebay, I bought it for $6 at a goodwill in Pembroke Pines FL. The scratch on top is the only major damage, all the marks on the frount will wipe off. The insides are very clean and dident have a speck of dust. I'll sell it but only if it's pays enough to be worth the trouble.
There are a couple of people here who would buy it just for the cable... as said above, it's not standard SCSI Out of curiosity, what made you realize that it wasn't just a standard CD-Rom? Most people would see that at a pawn shop and not realize it's a developer's tool.
PA dont Double post please... ill let you get away with the ebay number thing cpt if you want to sell something then take it to the marketplace forum. However You need to read the rules there. Anyone making offers here or asking to buy will just have their post deleted!
well i put a modchip into my xbox a while ago and i had stumbled across some dev kit stuff then, and when i saw the playstation sticker and the wierd cable, i knew it was something special.
